Putnam National Golf Club, is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in Mahopac, New York.
Formerly The Country Club at Lake MacGregor, Putnam National Golf Club reopened in the spring of 2004 as Putnam National Golf Club, a public, daily fee, par-71, 18-hole championship course. The course is located in the lower Hudson Valley town of Mahopac, New York, and is...renowned for grand vistas and beautiful rolling topography. Fall golf is particularly spectacular.

Putnam National is one of those rare public golf courses where golfers can enjoy the tradition of excellence established when the course was a private country club. Bent grass tees and greens, rye fairways and a state-of-the-art irrigation system are the perfect combination for great playing conditions throughout the season.
The course first opened for play in the 1960's. The course was designed by William F. Mitchell. Putnam National plays to 6,779 yards from the back tees. The course rating is 73 and the slope rating is 129.

Have played this course for over 10yrs and it is in beautiful conditions. The greens are great and the fairways are perfect The new drainage keeps the course dry. Try the course you will be surprised

Course was in poor condition and the layout of the back nine has too many holes facing other holes which maks it dangerous. Not as scenc as nearby courses.

Being a slightly better than average golfer (13 handicap), I find it a nice challenging course. But I do find that some of their pin placements can border on being unfair.

the course is in great condition, They are improving the bunkers on several holes which really improves the course. Most rounds less than 4 and half hours, Not an easy course but very playable
